“Give and it shall be given to you…” – Luke 6:38.
Give because He is worthy, to honor Him. Give because you love Him. Give because we are stewards of all He has entrusted to us – He owns it all, and we don’t. Give because you love those for whom Christ died, the least and the last and the lost, and because so many people throughout the world desperately need our help. Give to build up Christ’s church. Give because you are a son or daughter of the Father, a servant and friend of the Son, an instrument of the Spirit; and our Triune God, whom we seek to emulate and worship and serve is a Giving God. Why be led or limited by the Law’s requirements? Give joyfully, give extravagantly, for God loves cheerful givers – they put a smile on His Face!
