I love it when God shows up in totally unexpected ways and places.
Yesterday, I was going through the checkout line at Sprouts (California grocery/produce store). The young woman ringing up my groceries was looking up at the ceiling lights above her head and clearly reacting in pain from some kind of migraine attack. She quietly muttered something about her discomfort, which seemed to me to be a clear invitation for the Holy Spirit to intervene. And that He certainly did!
I raised my hand in prayer and asked Jesus to touch her. Her response was immediate, and strong. She brightened up and said she had read her Bible earlier in the day, but now was being hit with this affliction while she was trying to work. I said, “That is called spiritual warfare.” I lifted my hand toward her and prayed again for Jesus to touch her and set her free. The Holy Spirit came on her in power, and she was filled up! She kept saying, “Look at the hairs on my arm, they’re standing straight up, they’re standing straight up!” Both of us felt the powerful and unmistakable presence of Jesus; it was revival, not in church but in the checkout line at Sprouts!
I love it, I love it, I love it! There is power – POWER! – when 2 or 3 are gathered in Jesus’ name. Thank You, Jesus, for showing up. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for making life an adventure! COME, HOLY SPIRIT!!!
